Introduction Social media and technologies are changing the relationships between patients,Health Care Boards and researchers resulting in a resource for each other. The development of health literacy(HL) is a viaticum for health promotion.Low levels of health literacy are found in those with poor general education with poor outcomes of their desease. The purpose of the work was to undertake empirical research through the administration of questionnaires aimed at studying patient experience and health information seeking on social media in the heart failure field. We also analyzed HL, a factor known to increase self-care.We observed the process of social media adoption by some Health Boards. Awareness of users and professionals can reduce health care costs by promoting appropriate care and equity.MethodsTo achieve the objectives, from September 2022 three questionnaires were administered to patients of the Cardiology Department affected by chronic heart failure at the San Giovanni di Dio and Ruggi d'Aragona University Hospital. We collected information on sociodemographic aspects (Fig.1) and concerning understanding,self-management,use of the web, the state of anxiety/depression and the level of perceivedsocial support.A multiple correspondence analysis was used and the items were grouped using the cluster analysis to the identification of similar groups. To this end with mixed method approach we researched post /likes of three Campania Health Boards over a three month period. Results We have observed the group of subjects who possess a high level of healthcare culture and have a very high level of understanding of the information received from healthcare professionals and are able to describe the symptom. They check their health status. There were a high percentage of anxious subjects with a good level of perception of social support, who had a university level of education and were aged under 65 years. Investigating health information via the web (Fig.2), a gradual increase in the level of understanding and management of the disease was observed. The process of adopting social media by the local health Units involved in the our research is still at an initial stage. Conclusions Organization literacy support a reduction in spending and access to medical practices. This observation encourages Health care Boards to improve HL with information programs through social media to find new strategies oriented towards a change to the socioassistance.
